As the Jets get closer to the promised land, The Super Bowl, the New York versus New Jersey argument is coming up again. It came up when the Giants got to the big game a few years ago as well. You don’t hear much talk about it in Week 4. Christie opened the war of words pointing out that the Jets are headquartered and practice in Florham Park. He also mentioned that they play their home games in New Jersey. And oh yeah, most of their players live here. New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg fired back with the fact that the Jets first played at the Polo Grounds and then at Shea Stadium. Kinda lame argument there, Mike. By that logic that basketball team that plays in LA would still be called Minneapolis Lakers.
The Jets had a pep rally in New York’s Times Square this afternoon and they will have one in Florham Park on Saturday. Looks like the Jets are playing the Switzerland role here trying to keep everyone happy. A smart move. In the end does it really matter?
