Last night, we ventured into NYC for a concert and found a great New Jersey story.  We love it when that happens!

The opening band for The Pogues last night at Terminal 5 was an outfit from Glen Rock, NJ, called Titus Andronicus and they really rocked it!

Songs about New Jersey mixed with songs about losers, love and angst last night as they playing for a pretty rowdy group of fans.

They were a great complement to The Pogues fans’ sensibilities, too.  We didn’t hear any of the usual opening act groaning from audience members. How charming!

So far, Titus Andronicus has produced two albums on the XL Recordings label—2009’s The Airing of Grievances and 2010’s Monitor.

Check them out on their MySpace page here and on their label’s page here.

Or, you can scalp tickets to Coachella this summer and make the trek to California to see them rock the desert.  How great would that be?
