State Theatre Receives a 2011 People’s Choice Award Nomination

New Brunswick, NJ —It was recently announced that the State Theatre Regional Arts Center at New Brunswick has been selected as a nominee for “Favorite Performing Arts Center” as part of the annual Discover Jersey Arts People’s Choice Awards.
From now through January 18, 2012, the public has been invited to vote for their favorite nonprofit arts groups in categories ranging from performing arts centers and professional theaters, to art museums and opera companies.

People can make their voices heard at Polls are open from now through midnight on January 18, 2012. The winners of the People’s Choice, to be announced January 26, 2012, will receive their awards at The Governor’s Conference on Tourism in March 2012.

Discover Jersey Arts (DJA) is a co-sponsored project of the ArtPride New Jersey Foundation and New Jersey State Council on the Arts working in partnership with other cultural service organizations statewide including the New Jersey Theatre Alliance, South Jersey Cultural Alliance, New Jersey Network and New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism. The project’s mission is to increase the awareness of and participation in the arts in New Jersey.
