Shunned by Hoboken, Snooki and JWoww are being taken in by its neighbor Jersey City. Most likely the MTV show has the town seeing dollar signs despite the possible and or probable hassles that it may cause.
To mitigate the headaches, Jersey City has set some rules.
First, taxpayers will not be paying for the police that will be taking care of security for the cast and crew. The production company will have to pay for a detail of off-duty police officers to provide security and will have to pay for any additional officers if needed.
Also, the production crew will have to use pay lots to park their cars instead of taking spaces that residents need in an area where parking spaces are not easy to come by.
The Mayor Jerramiah Healy said he feels that the show is an opportunity to promote the city. Based on surveys that have shown that viewers of ‘Jersey Shore’ came away from the show with a positive view of Seaside Heights despite what they may have felt about the antics of the cast, he may be right.
