Tom Sawyer Diner, Paramus – Review

We were listening to Rush one night and it reminded us that we hadn’t been to the new Tom Sawyer Diner yet.  We had been there before a devastating fire had razed the entire former building and knew it had been rebuilt so we decided to head over to Paramus and check out what had changed.

It’s changed for the better.  Don’t get me wrong, it was good before, too.  But, they’ve transformed a regular diner into a place where you could take a date (and still get a good diner burger)!

The burgers were fresh, juicy and piled high with great toppings. We tried the Roy Rogers burger which comes with bacon, frizzled onions, BBQ sauce and cheddar cheese.  It came with great fries and left nothing to be desired when looking for a Jersey-diner-type burger.  Nice!

We also tried the Garden State salad (hey, we’re in Jersey, of course we have to try that one!) and it was as good as it looks.

Lots of grilled chicken and bacon along with avocado and tomatoes on top of romaine lettuce.  Quite satisfying for a salad!

We also got a calamari appetizer which was good but a little scant for the price.  At least the marinara dipping sauce was really good.

Check out all of the pics from our meal at the Tom Sawyer Diner and also check it out yourself when you’re at the Fashion Center mall and want a quick, non-food court, bite!
