Amazon Poised to Become Less Cost-Effective to Buy From in New Jersey

Sad news for most consumers in New Jersey this week because Governor Christie announced that Amazon.com will begin collecting sales tax from NJ customers on July 1, 2013.  But, don’t think that you have a whole year to buy more tax-free Amazon junk, either.  The one year delay is so that we consumers can tally up all our annual Amazon purchases and have it taken out of our tax returns.

The news doesn’t get much better, either.  This development is happening mainly because Amazon says that they MIGHT open some distribution centers here.  (yes, just MIGHT open…  not WILL open)

Anyone else feel like we’re going to be paying millions of dollars in sales tax in return for a wink and nod?
