Son of John and Teresa Siemann, he has an older brother, John, and is a quadruplet with three sisters Amanda, Maria, and Jessica. His hobbies include scuba diving, reading, and cooking.
Siemann was in the class of 2008 at Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville. Brian arrived at Notre Dame, having no experience with track. In fact, Brian remembers that Coach Joe McLaughlin came to him in the cafeteria and asked if Brian was interested in Track. Brian recalls that he laughed at the question. Within weeks, ND and Project Freedom had raised the $5,000 to purchase Brian’s first racing chair, and Brian Siemann was on the ND Track Team.
Brian is a senior at the University of Illinois with a major in English and a Minor in Secondary Education
He was a member of the U.S. National Team 2011 National Champion in the 100, 200 and 400, Qualifying for the 400m final at the 2011 World Championships in Christchurch, New Zealand. This is his first Paralympics.
