Every year photographers all over the world get together on one day to take part in the Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk. This year the day is October 13th. In cities and towns across the globe, photographers of every skill level walk for a few hours taking pictures. They each later post their one favorite photo from the day on Kelby’s Photo Walk site. Many cities will also have a Flickr group so walkers can share more of their favorite photographs in their own group. You register at the same photo walk site where you’ll post your best picture. No fees—the entire event is free. Check out the F.A.Q. here for additional information. Prizes? Did I mention there are also some great prizes up for grabs?
We have participated in every one of the Photowalks and can promise you it is an enjoyable event. This year we are walking in one of the Asbury Park sites (Southern end of boardwalk). Walkers at each site is limited to 50. Here is a list of the cities and towns in New Jersey you can still sign up for:
There is also a scheduled walk in Princeton that is full but you can join a waiting list to see if a space opens.
If you like photography and you are interested in checking out some neat places to photograph around our state, you should definitely join one of the groups. And, if you’d like to come out to Asbury Park and photograph with us, there are 34 spots left as of tonight so come on out!
