Due to the circumstances surrounding the bombings at the Boston Marathon today, we’re holding off on our regularly scheduled post today to bring you information on how to find someone who was participating, or attending in some other way.
You can find out if a participant finished by visiting the Boston Athletic Association’s website and searching by name, bib number, state, etc. This website is how we found out that there were 562 runners and one handcycle racer from New Jersey.
The Boston Marathon’s Twitter account has information for runners who are looking for transportation and help getting their baggage.
Boston has set up a hotline for locating friends and family: 617-635-4500.
The Red Cross has created a Safe and Well site to let people register who are in the Boston area to let their loved ones know that they are OK. You can also register to look for someone you think might be in the area and then get information when (or if) they register on the site.
Google has set up a site called Google Person Finder: Boston Marathon where people can also register that they are safe or register that they are looking for someone.
We hope that everyone from New Jersey is safe and our thoughts go out to all those injured in the attack and the families of those killed today.
