Say Goodbye To Free Movie Tuesdays

When I first heard about Free-Movie-Tuesday I was extremely skeptical, so much so that I didn’t even try to use it for awhile even when it was available to me. I thought that there was no way it could be true. How could they offer free movies without a catch? I finally went online and got the Optimum Rewards card and started to see movies for free on as many Tuesdays as I possibly could. The card worked like this : At any of the 26 Clearview Cinemas in New Jersey, you could get 2 free movie tickets for any show on Tuesday, except for 2 Tuesdays a year due to Holidays. Any other day of the week, the card entitled you to up to 5 tickets for $7.00 (started out as $6.00) each instead of the normal $11.50-$11.75. It was the best deal in movies but as of the end of May 2013 that is all coming to an end.

Cablevision has sold Clearview Cinemas to Bow Tie Cinemas, a movie theatre chain that wants a presence in New Jersey. As a result Optimum can no longer offer the movie discounts after May 31st 2013. Cablevision has stated that they will notify Optimum Reward cardholders as to what future benefits they will have.
