Morristown Exes Are Contestants on Upcoming Amazing Race 23

Teams that sign up for game shows usually have some kind of relationship like longtime friends, brothers/sisters, father/son, mother/daughter, coworkers, or married couples among others. The one type of relationship that always feels uneasy with me is exes. Whether they were married and divorced or just dating, there is a reason that they aren’t together anymore. How are they supposed to be a good team. I guess the only rational explanation is that there were good dynamics to their relationship as well and they think they can avoid the negatives long enough to win a game with the knowledge that its just temporary and they can go their separate ways when it’s over. Or maybe they will even get back together after the season ends. Who knows?

The new season of The Amazing Race has a team that consists of just such a matchup, with both teammates sharing the hometown of Morristown, ex-couple Tim Sweeney and Marie Mazzocchi. We will be watching and hope that they do well and also hoping they are one of the more likable teams since, for better or worse, they are representing New Jersey. Timothy is in Sports Marketing and Marie is a Fitness Trainer/Gym Owner. When asked what would the biggest challenge for them running the race together, Timothy said “I would like us to be able to communicate what’s best for each other as an “us.” Sometimes we lose focus on what’s best, to simply be right individually.” Marie responded “Neither one of us actually listens to one another – we both just yell at the same time trying to be right and walk away…nothing ever gets resolved.” Well, good luck with that. You can check out their profile page and The Amazing Race 23 website homepage.

The Amazing Race 23 will premiere September 29th at 8:00 p.m. EST on CBS.
