This Week in Veggies – What’s Fresh at Your Local Farmers Market

It’s a sad day in our household when the CSA bags go into deep storage for the winter.  This is the last week of food deliveries for our Westfield CSA and it was quite a bounty! We’ve been a part of the Westfield CSA (community supported agriculture) group for several years now. This is what we got so you can see what your farmers will have this week. Since our farmer also delivers to local farmers markets, we think his shares are pretty representative of what other organic farmers will be bringing to their markets before they pack up for the year, too.

We got teeny tiny lettuces, sweet potatoes, cauliflower, delicata squash, purple top turnips, kohlrabi, rainbow carrots, radicchio, celery root, white potatoes, tatsoi, parsley and a few Brussels sprouts.

Have a great winter and think about signing up with a CSA by your house.  It’s more than worth the money.  We promise.
