We’re celebrating National Burger Month by checking out some of the best burgers in New Jersey. We stopped by Loaded Burgers-N-BBQ recently and here’s what we found.
This is the burger with Ed’s choice of mushrooms and caramelized onions. The toppings, as you can see, were plentiful—”loaded,” if you will—and cooked to perfection. The burgers were juicy and well-seasoned. Mine was juicy to the point of needing many napkins.
I got the one pictured way up top with goat cheese, avocado and giant bacon slabs. I would venture a guess and say that they make their own bacon. If they don’t, they have someone bring in some very special bacon as their supplier.
They have fresh, never frozen burgers which are cooked to the temperature of your liking. I ordered medium rare and it was nice and pink inside. Ed got ordered medium and it was still pretty pink.
Pay CLOSE attention to their Facebook page. They only serve fresh ingredients so they often run out of things the closer they get to the end of the day. When we visited for burgers, we were told they were all out of everything on their BBQ menu.
Their fries are simply put, outstanding. They’re made from fresh potatoes, crispy on the outside and very creamy in the middle. We shared an order of fries and with the big burgers we had more than enough to eat because the taste of everything is so bold and amazing.
We visited Loaded Burgers-N-BBQ back when they opened a few years ago and loved their menu. Then they closed to renovate the store next door and expand into it. Now, they seem to have a much smaller menu but a nicer space. (Sad but good, at the same time.) Here’s the pork belly sandwich on cornbread waffle buns and drizzled with maple syrup.
It appears that their BBQ menu is limited to chicken, pulled pork and brisket now. And, there’s no mention of those fantastic waffles anymore. I guess they weren’t popular? Hopefully, they will come back as specials someday because they were great.
