We’ve been hearing from more and more friends and readers that they’d like to know where we’re going each week so they can join us. We get invited to events, hear about fun exhibits and are interested in lots of different places all the time. Here’s what is on our radar this week. We can’t guarantee that we’ll go to all these places but there’s a good chance we’ll be at some of them. Support local arts or get outside and do something with us!
Saturday, December 10th at 6pm, Index Arts Center, Newark
Reception and silent auction: Saturday, December 10, 6 to 11pm. Bidding ends at 10pm.
Index Art Center is proud to announce our 6th annual fundraiser and silent art auction. Index’s Fine Art Auction will present a unique opportunity to collect works of art by emerging and established artists! Proceeds will benefit the gallery so that we may continue our mission of presenting compelling exhibitions, multi-media events and workshops that help make Newark a worthwhile destination for the visual arts, music and independent film. We are very appreciative to have been able to continue where we left off after the fire that put us out of commission for almost a year back in 2013. This year is an especially important one as we have expanded to the ground floor, and we now occupy three full floors. This a big step for us and we’re counting on your support more than ever!
IAC will be donating a portion of our door donations to “Stand With Standing Rock”

Vine Shine 6.5% – This beer was inspired by both East and West coast IPAs. Drawing its dank piney hop character from the West, and its smooth light bitterness, along with its dry “crushabilty” from the East, Vine Shine combines both styles to make a truly unique IPA.
Search Saison 5.5% – Fermented in oak Foeder with Brettanomyces, Search Saison is a rustic saison with notes of white wine.
Low Visibility 4.8% – New Zealand and American hops bring out notes of citrus and peach in this hop-forward crushable ale.
Half Batch 8.0% – Hopped with Chinook and Centennial and fermented with hazy NE style yeast. Super juicy.
Double Dry Hopped Vine Shine 6.5% – Dry hopped a second time with Mosaic and Simcoe lupulin powder. Lupulin powder is a potent new hop product that is a more concentrated version of the traditional hop pellets that we primarily use today. Dank with a dense hop character.
Maine Event 6.5% – New England IPA hopped with Citra and Simcoe brewed to pay homage to their time spent in Maine. Super juicy.
Flash 8.0% – West Coast style Double IPA named after their brewery dog. It is hopped intensely with Simcoe, Cascade and Nugget.
It’s-Dam-Cool 7.0% – The beloved Turkish Coffee Porter brewed with coffee and cardamom.
Peak Oil 9.0% – Imperial IPA hopped with Citra, Mosaic and Amarillo in the kettle and dry hopped with Citra and Mosaic lupulin powder. Then conditioned with Apollo hop oil before packaging.
Hype Train 10.5% – Triple IPA hopped with 100% Simcoe hops and dry hopped with Simcoe lupulin powder. Conditioned this massive triple IPA on copious amounts of passionfruit and guava.
Headaches 8.2% – Juicy New England DIPA dry hopped with Simcoe lupulin powder.
