We’ve been hearing from more and more friends and readers that they’d like to know where we’re going each week so they can join us. We get invited to events, hear about fun exhibits and are interested in lots of different places all the time. Here’s what is on our radar this week. We can’t guarantee that we’ll go to all these places but there’s a good chance we’ll be at some of them. Support local arts or get outside and do something with us!

We are releasing a 5 song EP titled “Axis & Allies” featuring our song “Mr. Chump” about the evil, orange clown Donald J. Trump – We will be joined by Peanut Butter & Jelly and The Michaela McClain Band!
$5 cover – Doors open at 7pm with hors d’ Oeuvres and a bar. Music starts around 8pm Please arrive early to warm up, mingle, you know how we do at the home studio. Michaela McClain “…is a singer/songwriter whose Folky-Soul sound is reminiscent of Alicia Keys, Norah Jones & Joni Mitchell. Her warm groove creates an atmosphere of love that’s irresistible. ” Peanut Butter & Jelly is a two piece made up of Tris McCall & Mr. Flannery “Tris believes that the only valid subjects for rock music are cars and sexual frustration. as his writing is (mostly) about architecture, transport, urban politics, public culture and disgraced officials, he considers his songs (mostly) invalid. but hummable!”
Our satirical single Ebolabama that was featured in The Huffington Post a few months back is also on this record along with The Tierney’s Tavern Song, an old school duet called “Old and Grey and “The Price is Right on Mischief Night” a tune about a hitman from Newark.
This EP features some amazing guest musicianship from many of our friends: The Defending Champions horn section – Jenny Mustaches of Bone and Marrow and J.T. Makoviecki of Jackson Pines on trombone and some great vox from Kelly Daveene on Mr Chump, Erica Rasmussen on Ebolabama, and Ali Bang with a sick, one take freestyle rap on Mr Chump.
This show will be performed in the intimacy of The Porchistas Home Studio – This will also be one of our last few shows for a while as we get ready to do some traveling and regrouping. Please mark your calendars for a special night in Montclair.
