It is no secret that Wreaths are one of my favorite New Jersey bands. The groove heavy, space rock, fuzz and drone that the band does so well always enthralls me both on record and on stage. It has been a while since Wreaths have played live so when I heard the band were returning to Asbury Park for a one-off show at the Asbury Park Yacht Club I immediately marked my calendar.

The band may have been laying low for a bit but they’ve said recently that the boys are at it again. New songs are being worked on and they’re excited to play live for the first time in a while. Former Wreaths member Todd Wacha now of Seaside Caves will be rejoining to play guitar and synth for this show. Add Paul Ritchie of gods and Jordan DeVesty of Birthwater and what you have here is a supergroup-level Wreaths. Talk about stacked.

Also on the bill are Cosmicide who bring their electronica sounds to the Jersey Shore. Brandon Curtis of Secret Machines and touring member of Interpol formed the band to create some work that was his own. Brooklyn psych rockers Sun Voyager will be opening the show.

Trust me you do not want to miss this show. You can always call out from work sick on Thursday.
