Chris “C.R.” Gennone is not only one of the most industrious musicians in the Jersey music scene, he is one heck of a nice guy. So nice, in fact, he invited us out for ice cream recently. He and his band C.R. and the Degenerates are readying the release of their 5th album, Coming of Age, and we are thrilled to premiere the first single off the album “White Noise” the first single off the album.

A gorgeous, lilting wavy synth announces the new song and plays a key role throughout the song reemerging at various times to add texture. “Through the darkness I can show you my love,” Gennone sings, offering a ray of light in the din of life. As white noise includes all audible frequencies it is often used to mask other sounds. Perhaps the white noise from the title is a way of blocking out all the negativity that keeps us from validation. Sprinkle in some deft guitar and you’ve got a great tune to kick off summer. It was the perfect song to drive home to last night while the sunset turned the sky pink.

Mixed by Max Rauch and mastered by Skylar Adler, you can pre-order the album on the band’s Bandcamp page. Catch the band live at their release show at Stosh’s in Fair Lawn on July 6th. Joining them are LKFFCT, The Big Swim, Rosey Bengal and Trim Trabs.
