You Don’t Know Jersey is thrilled to premiere the new video “Cassini” from New Brunswick band Sink Tapes. One of the hardest working bands in New Jersey, fans were surprised when they took a year off from releasing any new material. This year they have returned with an incredible new record Playground of Versus that is filled with outstanding low-fi, jangly pop tunes. The band is back in a big way.

Neil Sabatino runs Mint 400 Records and also mastered Playground of Versus and had this to say about the band and new record. “So this is like album number 8 in 5 years, accompanied by a slew of singles and EP’s. If you don’t check these guys out, you are missing out on the most prolific band in indie rock.” He continues “Unlike many of their peers this is definitely not just a band that rehashes the same style over and over, the band has made an obvious artistic progression over the last 5 years and this is the latest in what I am sure will be a very long line of releases to come. We’ve called them Velvet Underground-ish all the way to REM-ish but these guys have become their own thing now.”

The REM comparison is apt as the video reminds me of the visual work that band was doing around the time of Fables of the Reconstruction.  Check out Sink Tapes doing their own thing below then head over to their Bandcamp page and pick up Playground of Versus.
