Convention Hell returns to Asbury Park this Saturday October 27th at Convention Hall. Now in its 5th year, the concert promises to be one, ahem, hell of a show with local musicians as cover bands from long ago. This year the event will be reviving the souls from Convention Hall’s past as the classic acts being covered have all played the venue back in their touring heydays.
And we are thrilled to be giving away a pair of tickets to the show! Email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and phone number and the subject line Convention Hell and you’re entered. Easy as that. One winner will be selected on Friday at noon.
This year’s line-up is one of the best with local bands covering some of my personal favorites. Asbury Park funk-jam band Waiting On Mongo will be covering the Godfather of Soul James Brown. The Burns will be channeling Jim Morrison and The Doors. Will there be leather pants? We aren’t telling. Wild Adriatic takes on the mammoth blues rock gods Led Zeppelin. If that is not enough Pink Talking Fish perform Pink Floyd’s legendary Dark Side of the Moon in it’s entirety.
So get your costume picked out and get ready to descend into an awesome night of music at Convention Hell.
The event is 21 and over. Even if you don’t win the pair of tickets you can purchase them at the Stone Pony box office or through the Facebook event link here.
