Pine Hill’s Jermaine Jones Disqualified from American Idol
Well, maybe we jinxed him. Or maybe he did himself in.
We recently ran a story about the two New Jersey natives who are finalists on American Idol. Today we learned that Jermaine Jones, of Pine Hill, is out. But, not because of losing.
Share on FacebookTwo of the Final Twelve American Idol Competitors are from New Jersey
We can’t say we’re American Idol fans but it is exciting when two of the final twelve competitors this season are from New Jersey. Here’s a little information on both.
Jermaine Jones is 25 and from Pine Hill. This is his second shot on the show after the judges dismissed him in Las Vegas and then was brought back via a Wild Card. He is a vocal instructor and has sung several Luther Vandross songs on the show, impressing judges with his smooth baritone voice. He’s 6’8 1/2″ and has been tabbed as the “Gentle Giant” by the Idol judges.
Elise Testone is originally from Kinnelon but lives in Charleston, South Carolina now. She’s 28 and said to have one of the best voices in the competition. She’s a voice coach just like Jermaine is. Sensing a theme here? Elise’s raspy voice wasn’t well-suited to the Whitney Houston song she was asked to sing in Monday night’s Houston tribute. She barely made it through this Wednesday’s elimination. Let’s hope she gets to keep going for a little longer.

The gimmick of this film is very poorly explained in the commercials. Here’s how it works : The entire movie – all 85 minutes of it minus the credits – were filmed in one continuous take. The camera never stops rolling.

Act of Valor is a unique movie in that it stars active-duty Navy SEALs in the cast. The film is scripted and fictional but inspired by true events.
