ART FROM FOUND OBJECTS: A Juried Exhibition
September 12 – October 31, 2010
Opening Reception September 12, 3:00 – 5:00 pm Opening Reception Free and open to the public.
This juried exhibition in the Museum’s Main Gallery features artwork created from discarded, reusable or found objects. Forty-eight artworks were selected, representing artists from the tri-state area along with artists from as far away as Missouri and Arkansas. The juror was Harriet Taub, Executive Director, Materials for the Arts (MFTA), NYC Department of Cultural Affairs.
Brookdale Community College Faculty Exhibition at the Monmouth Museum: What I Did This Summer

This group exhibition of works by the Art Faculty of Brookdale Community College is a twist on the age-old request of teachers during the first weeks of school – now it is the teachers? turn to show off their summer creations.

SOLAR OBSERVATION (all ages) Saturday September 11, 1 to 4 p.m. View naturalistic activity on the sun safely through a telescope equipped with a special filter. Observe sunspots, solar flares, prominences, and other solar phenomena as they are available. Learn how these storms can affect the earth as well as other interesting facts about our planet’s closest star. Gene Ramsey of the Amateur Astronomers Association of Princeton will conduct this activity. Clear skies required. (rain date: 9/18) Free.
