This is Starting to Hurt

NY Jets Vs. Detroit Lions

The Jets just find ways to win and lose. This week they found a way to win against the hopeless Lions. Until half way through the fourth quarter, the Lions were running away with this game, and Jets fans—and this writer—were shaking their heads in disbelief and shock. How could the Jets be losing to the lowly Lions. Isn’t this team supposed to be going to the Superbowl? But the Jets shook off their non-believers and proved to the believers that they are Superbowl worthy. Mark Sanchez used the ol’ quarterback sneak to make the game 20-17 late in the fourth quarter and Nick Folk kicked a field goal to send it into overtime, shocking Detroit fans and getting Jets fans off their seats. In overtime Nick Folk sank another field goal from 30 yards out to squeak out a 23-20 road victory.

Should the Jets have dominated this game? Yes. Should the Lions have won this game? Yes. What ever it looked like or was projected, the Jets came out of Detroit with another win. With help from Cleveland beating up the Patriots Sunday, the Jets are still in first place in the AFC East.

NY Giants Vs. Seattle Seahawks

The only thing to say is total domination about this game. Some thought, as did I, that the Giants would show up to this game soft and not put up to much of a fight, beating the Seahawks in the long run. Not true. The Giants came out in full force on both the offensive and defensive sides, giving the Seahawks nothing to work with. Are the Giants this good or are the Seahawks that bad? The Giants are this good and to come out of the loudest stadium in the NFL with a 41-7 win is impressive.
