STREB – Slam Remote
The Brooklyn dance group STREB has invited the State Theater NJ to partner with them on a program called Slam Remote, designed to find new ways to expand audiences for dance. (It’s being subsidized by Dance America.) They have been sending some of the STREB dancers to a charter high school in Trenton, NJ to teach a group of at-risk teens. The kids will be performing with STREB on December 4—but the main company will be performing at their space in Brooklyn and the Trenton kids will be performing at Crossroads Theatre here in New Brunswick. Audiences in both places will see the other part of the show via live telecast. The 12/4 performance is free (and very family-friendly) and free cotton candy and popcorn will be served. This is a great event that promotes not only dance, but health and fitness for kids.
