Jets (Predicted Finish 11-5)
The Jets made it to the championship last year before losing to the Steelers. This year I am not as confident they will return. I think Mark Sanchez is not quite there yet as an elite quarterback and I am not sure Plaxico Burress is the answer to get him there. He does have two other strong receivers in Santonio Holmes and Derrick Mason. With LT fading, Shonn Greene will be the main back. We will see if he can handle the workload. You know the defense will be strong led by the best cornerback in the league in Darrelle Revis. Will they stay healthy is the question. The fans have been buying head coach Rex Ryan’s hype for three years now. No doubt he makes football fun but if he doesn’t make the Super Bowl this year he might just be known as the coach who cried wolf.
Eagles (Predicted finish 13-3)
On paper this is the team to beat this year. They can be scary good. It all comes down to Michael Vick. If he stays healthy I see them or the Packers as the NFC team in the Big Game. He has so many weapons. I think LeSean McCoy is underrated and has a shot to be a top 3 running back. They have 2 wide receivers in the Top 20; DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin. The defense is one of the strongest in the league as well, especially as they were the team to sign Nnamdi Asomugha. Arguably the only cornerback challenging Revis for best in the game. The Philly fans can be rough. After all they once booed and threw snowballs at Santa Claus. If they don’t go all the way Andy Reid might have to dress as Santa to escape Philadelphia.
Giants (Predicted finish 7-9)
They could prove me wrong but I think it is going to be a long year for the New York Giants. I expect we will see a lot of shots on TV of Eli Manning with that lost puppy dog look of his and Tom Coughlin red faced and confused on the sideline. Eli could be a big time QB. Could be. He always seems to make mistakes at the big moment. Sure he has his ring but New York, or New Jersey, is a “What have you done for me lately” kind of place. Hopefully he will make use of his great wide receivers Hakeem Nicks and Mario Manningham. By use I mean not overthrow. These guys are really talented and should shine. A little more concern with the running back situation. Ahmad Bradshaw is the main back but Brandon Jacobs will get his fair share of carries. Hopefully they can hang onto the ball. The defense could be in trouble. Players are dropping like flies with all the injuries. I could be wrong but the G-Men will probably miss the playoffs again.
