State transportation officials have plans to update New Jersey’s 511 traffic information site, which was created in 2008 in hopes of keeping drivers informed.

Some of the improvements are real time info for drivers who are already on the road and an online interactive feature. The online feature, which should be available by the end of 2011, will allow drivers to search by county in order to see the driving conditions.

As they update the site, they should take into consideration that a lot of people going to the site will be on smartphones instead of a computer as they are going to need it while they are out on the road.
