The Clark Griswold Award for Excessive Christmas Decorating Goes To…

Remember Christmas Vacation when Clark Griswold’s eyes light up as he plugs in the elaborate Christmas decorations on his house and you think that no one in real life goes that far. Well there actually are people who go that far.

No one does it better than a dentist in Clifton, NJ. Every year on Christmas and also Halloween, his house becomes one of the wonders of the world. If you get off Route 3 at Grove Street and go South, you can’t miss it. Or actually you can miss it if the lights are off. Over the years I have gone over and photographed it a few times. I have driven by a couple of times this year and it looks like it is decorated but the lights are always off when I drive by. I don’t know if he is running into problems with the neighbors or maybe the police have given him some rules because of cars stopping on Grove Street. Whatever it is, I am hoping to see them on this year.

If you go over to the house to take a look, keep a couple of things in mind. First, don’t stop right on Grove Street and block traffic or possibly cause an accident. Find a parking space that doesn’t block people in or cause inconvenience for someone else. Just use common sense in general.
