HORRIBLE news, this September 2014. Midtown Grill is closed. We loved you Midtown Grill!

Every August we go on a Hot Dog Tour for Ed’s birthday. We drive all over the state trying lots of different dogs and generally making ourselves sick of the tubesteaks by the end of the week. Well, it’s about as far away from August as it can get on the calendar and we were feeling like grabbing a few dogs. So, we declared it August for a few hours and headed over to the Midtown Grill in Clifton.

These deep-fried dogs are excellent served all the way. Their chili is slightly spicy but not overwhelming and really saucy. Their fries and onion rings are also really good here. Served slightly well-done so they are super crispy, they’re the perfect complement to the spicy chili dogs.

Damn, these pictures look so good that I want to go back for dinner again tonight!

The Midtown Grill has a pretty wide selection of food on the rest of its menu. The gyros are legendary and their deep-fried pizza perogi are must-haves as a little appetizer.

It’s a small place and it can get crowded at lunch but it’s totally worth heading over to Main Avenue in Clifton. Hey, you might even see us there tonight!
