Tomorrow is the Fifth Annual Record Store Day. A virtual 24 hour celebration of the local record store. The place where you can thumb through hundreds, or thousands, of glorious wax discs. Albums where you can actually see the cover art instead of a thumbnail. Ever buy an album just because of the awesome cover? The brick and mortar store where you can ask an owner or salesperson suggestions of good local bands or cool imports that have just come in. Sure it’s easy to hop on iTunes and download a digital copy in a few minutes. But it won’t sound as good as a record. You’ll also be missing out on a great experience.
You can visit the official Record Store Day website here. Here you can find information on all the special releases that day, in-store performances, contests and more. Click here for a list of New Jersey record stores that are participating.
