Last month we introduced you to the NJ heavy metal band, Killed the Fixtion. On April 30th they released their new single, “Moonlite Blue.” This song blew me away!

“Moonlite Blue” starts out with a driving heavy metal beat then mixes with an edgy blues sound. The transition is so smooth you don’t realize it until you hear that familiar blues guitar riff. At times you don’t know if you should bang your head or groove to the beat, but that’s the beauty of it. You’ve heard all this before, but never put together so well.

The inspiration for “Moonlite Blue” comes from Chester Arthur Burnett, an influential American blues singer, guitarist and harmonica player better known as Howlin’ Wolf. He said “when you’ve got the blues, you’re thinking evil.” [Howlin’ Wolf on YouTube]

Be sure to check out Killed the Fixtion on Facebook and download “Moonlite Blue.” You can also keep up with them on Twitter and You Tube. I can’t wait to hear more of what’s to come from this Jersey metal band!
