Thursday night, Jared Gilman (of South Orange) and Wyatt Ralff (of Maplewood) were honored along with many other area child actors (from NY, CT and PA) who appear in Wes Anderson’s latest movie, Moonrise Kingdom. Jared Gilman is the lead character, Sam Shakusky, who leaves his Khaki Scout troop to run away with Suzy Bishop, his pen pal.

We got to see the kids backstage getting ready for their limo ride to the red carpet outside the theater. After a screening of Moonrise Kingdom, we were treated to about 20 minutes of a Question and Answer session with the boys and you can see that video after the More link. Careful, though, there’s a VERY SLIGHT SPOILER in the video so if you don’t want to hear a small plot point, then wait until after you see the movie to watch the Q&A.
Sorry about the video quality, it’s dark in a movie theater. Who knew??
