The Front Bottoms, one of our favorite New Jersey bands, played the Bowery Ballroom in New York City last week. They have been touring a lot lately but we haven’t seem them since they played Asbury Lanes last April so we had to go check them out. Back is April the boys were playing shows with session bassist and keyboardist Drew Villafuerte. Drew left in November and now the band have 2 new musicians. Though they sound like they are still learning to mesh the new bassist and the new keyboardist/guitarist/trumpet player add a nice element to the sound.
We were treated to a great new song, Twin Size Mattress, from their forthcoming second album. A slow song that ends with some nice guitar work. One of the reasons we love this band is their lyrics and they don’t disappoint here. “I wanna contribute to the chaos, I don’t wanna watch and then complain.” We are really looking forward to the new album.
