Have you been hearing about the East Coast’s up-coming cicada invasion?  They’re getting closer and closer!  Check out RadioLab’s Cicada Tracker and you’ll see how close they’re getting.

Every 17 years this particular brood emerges from the ground once the ground is a stable 64 degress.  They make so much racket that the decibel level matches a jackhammer. Don’t worry, though, they don’t bite or anything.  Just grab some earplugs and you’ll be fine.
