New Brunswick, NJ —State Theatre presents Summerland Tour 2013 – Alternative Guitars featuring Everclear, Live, Filter and Sponge onTuesday, June 11, 2013 at 7:30pmTickets range from $35-75.

After a highly successful run last year, the Summerland Tour returns this time making a stop in New Brunswick. This year’s line-up includes Everclear, Live, Filter, and Sponge. The concert will include hits like “Father of Mine,” “Lightning Crashes,” “Take a Picture,” “Plowed,” and many more. “Last year’s Summerland was a blast,” says the tour creator and Everclear frontman Art Alexakis.  “This year we’ve brought a decidedly edgier flavor bill to satisfy all of the fans of 90s rock and roll out there.  It’s going to be an amazing summer night every night on Summerland 2013 Alternative Guitars.”

Everclear headlines this year’s tour and rocks the stage with old and new songs alike. Last year the band released a new album, Invisible Stars, which was their first album in six years. In addition to songs off their new album, the set will include well-known hits like “I Will Buy You a New Life,” “Father of Mine,” “Santa Monica,” and “Wonderful.” Since breaking out into the music scene in the early 90s, Everclear has sold over 9 million albums worldwide. Fronted by Art Alexakis, the band remains a potent force on the touring circuit.

In the 90’s, Live defined an era with their powerful hooks and platinum hits like “I Alone,” “The Dolphins Cry,” and “Lightening Crashes.” Since the bands conception in 1991, Live has sold over 22 million albums worldwide.  Sometime this year, fans should look for new Live songs to be released that hold the same power and passion that fans love.

Filter burst onto the music scene in the 90s with hits like, “Hey Man, Nice Shot,” “Where Do We Go From Here,” and “Take a Picture.” Intriguing fans with heart-pounding drum beats and raw guitar riffs, Filter has an extensive body of material spanning five albums. The band’s new album The Sun Comes Out Tonight, is scheduled to release on June 4, 2013, just seven days before the show at the State Theatre.

In the mid-90s, Sponge rose to the top of the charts with songs like, “Plowed,” “The Man,” “Have You Seen Mary,” and “Molly.” With their catchy hooks and emotional lyrics, Sponge has earned their keep and is one of the most sought after live acts to date. Sponge’s songs have also been featured on movie soundtracks such as Chasing Amy and Empire Records. Sponge is now touring in support of their new album, Stop the Bleeding which was released in April 2013.
