Lambertville Station Restaurant, Lambertville – Review

It’s National Hamburger Month and we stopped by the Lambertville Station Restaurant at the Inn at Lambertville Station to check out their burgers. Oh man, did we find a good one!

The Gold Blend Burger is a mix made of 24-day dry aged chuck, brisket and short ribs and it’s absolutely delicious.  It came on a brioche roll with grilled apples and Swiss cheese.  I wasn’t sure about the apples at first but they were really amazing. The burger was juicy and tender and they cooked it medium-rare just like I ordered it.  The saltiness of the burger was perfectly complimented by the slightly sweet roll and tart apples.  All the sandwiches we had came with house-made potato chips that were crunchy and thick and nicely salted.

The other burger on the menu was the Black Angus Burger and came with two free toppings which you could choose from this list: Swiss, Provolone, Aged Cheddar, American, Monterey Jack, Bacon, Onions, Mushrooms and Peppers.  We got grilled onions and bacon. It was a good burger and came on a nice hard roll.  Still, for only $2 more, you can get the Gold Blend burger.  We’d recommend the Gold Blend burger over the Black Angus because it’s so much more flavorful.

Because one can’t live on burgers alone, we also had the Turkey and Brie sandwich.  Wow.  The turkey was freshly roasted, there was plenty of brie and it was grilled on a panini press.  It came with a raspberry mayonaisse which was both beautiful and tasty.  It added just the right tartness to the rich sandwich.

We had a calamari starter, too.  The calamari was nice and fresh and the Asian dipping sauce that it came with was really sweet and delicious. We’re used to getting just the usual marinara which this also came with but the Asian sauce was a really nice surprise.

The Station Restaurant is right in between the D&R Canal and the Delaware River in the old Lambertville train station.

It’s got a little of the old station’s signage in the restaurant which adds to the charm of this cozy restaurant. There are lots of seating options here, too.  There’s an outside eating area, there’s a wine cellar downstairs and many other nooks inside the station.  It’s a really nice space.

We came for the burgers but we really ended up loving everything we had for lunch that day so when you’re antiquing in Lambertville we recommend stopping in for their delicious Gold Blend burger or probably anything else on the menu!
