The New York Jets played Thursday night football against the New England Patriots. They had a real chance of getting a consecutive win but poor Geno had wide receivers that kept dropping his passes. To be fair the rookie also had 3 picks and there were mistakes to go around. This was a golden opportunity to beat a banged up Patriots team that was ripe for the picking. Both teams played bad in a really ugly ball game that the Jets lost 10-13.
The New York Giants host the Denver Broncos at 4:25 on Sunday. In this brother versus brother matchup history shows that Eli has never been able to beat his brother Peyton in a regular season game. Can the Giants break that streak and get their record up to 1-1? Not if Peyton plays like he did last week. He pretty much put on a clinic in the Broncos victory over the Baltimore Ravens, the current Superbowl Champions. Still you never know what will happen on any give Sunday.
The Philadelphia Eagles play the San Diego Chargers at 1:00 in their home opener. Their goal is to keep the aggressive offense going and increase their record to 2-0. San Diego fans were always blaming Norm Turner about their woes but despite a new coaching staff and new regime we haven’t seen anything different yet. Last week was only their first game but we got the same results from the same quarterback Phillip Rivers. The same picks, mistakes and interceptions. This plus the jet lag of an early game for a West Coast team may doom the Chargers.
