The New Jersey Zombie Walk rightfully reclaimed the title of World’s Largest Gathering of Zombies on Saturday. On a warm autumn Asbury Park afternoon, 9,592 zombies walked through the turnstiles that counted the undead before the walk.

The number of walkers was estimated at over 10,000 but not all of them made it through the gates before the deadline. No matter. The record is back in New Jersey!

The New Jersey Zombie Walk first broke the record in 2010. Many cities claimed to break the record since but they were not attended by Guinness officials. The Zombie Pub Crawl in Minneapolis, MN did officially attain the record last year. It was a short reign.

The successful walk is thanks to organizer Jason Meehan and his team who work year round preparing for the walk. Great job on getting the record back in New Jersey!
