We saw a sign for the Zombie Dog Walk of the Dead while we were buying supplies for our Asbury Park zombie walk costumes. Seeing the sign, we knew we’d be heading over to Montclair for these doggie zombies the weekend after Asbury Park.

Held in Erie Park by the Walnut Street train station, there were booths from pet-friendly businesses, other pet rescues, awesome roller derby girls and ice cream treats.

There was also a raffle giving away a poster signed by George Romero and other cool Halloween related items.

We spoke with people at the Montclair Animal Shelter table and they said the day was a rousing success and they hope to hold it again next year.  Can’t wait for the next one already!

All the doggies were on their best behavior, despite being undead.  There wasn’t any fighting that we saw but there were a few scared little pups that had to be held. This little pumpkin stayed in the car.

And this big guy had to get a scolding for barking.

Some owners dressed up with their dogs.

And, some brought dogs along for an undead snack!

Everybody had a good time, especially us!

Check out all these sweet dogs and their owners parading around to support Montclair Animal Shelter.
