A Stroll Through Branch Brook Park – Cherry Blossoms In Bloom

We took a walk through Branch Brook Park in Essex County this past Saturday to check out the cherry blossoms. It is a yearly visit for YDKJ as we love the park when all the cherry blossom trees are blooming. It is a few weeks after the official Cherry Blossom Festival which took place in the park between April 5-13 but according to the blossom meter posted outside the Essex County Cherry Blossom Welcome Center the trees are still budding. This past colder than normal winter is at least partially the reason for delayed peak bloom.

A brilliant display was still on hand for the many visitors we encountered. People of all ages were enjoying walking among the cherry blossoms, taking pictures, jogging and biking. If you get a chance you really should check out the park this time of year. We are fortunate to have such a wonderful natural display in New Jersey.

Our pictures from our visit are below.
