Positivitea, Verona – Review

It seems incongruous to be reviewing a vegan cafe during National Burger Month but that’s what makes Positivitea in Verona so magical. The burger above may look like a BigMac but it’s actually the BigWac!  An all vegan burger that tastes remarkably similar to a McDonald’s offering. Everything was right, in fact.  The organic bun has sesame seeds, the lettuce is shredded just right and the pickles and onions even have the right texture.  All their burgers come with the same type of black bean veggie burger that’s a little crispy on the outside and very creamy and delicious on the inside.

There’s also the BigWac Jr. which has the same sauce and toppings but only one patty and no middle bun.  Actually, this one is easier to eat because the BigWac has so many layers.

We’ve also tried two of the burger combos.  The one above is the Mexicali that has a spicy burger made with quinoa, black beans and chipotle peppers.  It’s on a giant organic multi-grain bun and is topped with avocado, lettuce, jalapeño, onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, vegan mayo and an in-house spicy miso spread. It was very spicy and very delicious but, honestly, it was way too big to eat like a burger.  I think it’s the highest stacked burger I’ve ever seen.  We ended up eating it with a knife and fork.

This is a Mediterranean burger which came on the same organic multi-grain bun as the Mexicali and came with a great tahini sauce, chili sauce, lettuce, onions, pickles, tomatoes and cucumbers.  Not only are the veggie burger patties great but all the toppings are amazing, too.  You really must try some of these burgers! They all come with either quinoa chips or a kale salad.

Make sure you follow them on Facebook, too, to take advantage of their specials!

There’s plenty more on the all-vegan menu but we’ll wait until National Burger Month is over to try more.
