The Jersey Shore has many different faces and personalities. Here is one of them, from a beach that doesn’t get a lot of attention, Sandy Hook. When people think of lifeguards, New Jersey may not be the first state that comes to mind but with all our beaches, we have plenty of them!

Since 1985, The National Park Service has been holding the All-Women Lifeguard Tournament in Sandy Hook, part of the Gateway National Recreation Area. This year celebrates the 30th outing for the event! Lifeguards from all over the northeast come to compete. Here is a huge gallery of photos from this year’s tournament.
