Our friend Cool Dad Music is co-hosting a Holiday Rock & Roll benefit show with Little Dickman Records that promises to be an awesome showcase of the current Asbury Park local music scene. The all-ages benefit concert is taking place on Sunday December 14th at The Theatre Bar at Six Ten Bangs. The music will start at 3:00pm and last into the evening. Bands include The Battery Electric, Hot Blood, Overlake and Dentist. In addition to the great musical acts, local businesses have donated items for prizes.
The show is for a wonderful cause as it will benefit both The FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties and The Mercy Center of Asbury Park. These organizations can always use a helping hand but this time of year especially so. The show is $10 but if your bring a non-perishable food item you get in for only $5. Here is a list of the most needed items:
Ready-to-eat canned meals
Canned Tuna
Canned Fruits
Canned Vegetables
Instant Potatoes
Canned and Dry Soup
Peanut Butter
Jelly
Canned Pork and Beans
Canned Juices
Sip-size Juices
Hot and Cold Cereal
It is not often you get a chance to rock out all day and also help families in need during the holiday season. So basically, for the price of a lame tie that your uncle really wouldn’t wear anyway or some stale fruitcake that would knock a tooth out, you can turn your money into a real gift.
