Outer Limits Hot Sauce – Bringing the Heat From Bayonne

We recently had the chance to sample some Outer Limits Hot Sauce that’s made in Bayonne and ended up buying three bottles.  Yes, it’s that good!

The sauce samples were being offered at Asbury Park band The Battery Electric’s record release party because Outer Limits worked with TBE to make their own sauce. At the show, we tried the sauces on tortilla chips and they were all great. Once we got the bottles home, we started experimenting with the sauces on other foods to get a better sense of all three flavors.

First, we tried the Habanero sauce on fried chicken.  Nothing goes with hot sauce like good fried chicken.  We drove to Dumont to get Chicken Delight because it’s the best chicken we’ve ever tasted in New Jersey.

OuterLimits-5The extra spicy habaneros in this sauce were perfectly hot and a little smoky. It went perfectly drizzled over the chicken.  I like really spicy hot sauce so this was perfect for me.  Those who are less spice-adventurous would definitely like the next one we tried.

The next night we had pan fried potatoes as a side dish with the Battery Electric Jalapeno Hemp Seed sauce.  I poured some of the sauce into the pan with the sizzling potatoes and we drizzled some more sauce over the plated potatoes.  This sauce was herbal and delicious but not very hot.  This sauce would be great for people who aren’t crazy about spicy food but like a little bit of a kick.

Later that week, we tried the Jalapeno Lime sauce on chicken tacos.

OuterLimits-4This one is perfectly balanced between the Jalapeno Hemp Seed and Habanero sauces.  Some heat from the jalapenos and some acid from the lime.  A really terrific hot sauce!

The Battery Electric sauce might not be available all the time but check with them through their website or Facebook page.  We hear that they work with other artists, too, on special sauces so maybe there will be new ones to try when you get in touch with them.

Regardless of how hot you like your hot sauces, you should try out some of Outer Limits products and support some fellow New Jerseyans and their hot sauce dreams!
