Sally Lunn’s English Tearoom has two locations—Chester and Chatham. We stopped in at the Chester shop a while back and had a great lunch. We thought we’d tell you about it now because Sally Lunn’s is catering a Victorian Tea April 24-26 at Lambert Castle. There will be an a capella musical performance and two seatings a day at 12 noon and 3 p.m. Each seat will cost $45 and you must make reservations. There will even be a special Dolly and Teddy Bear Tea on Sunday at 12 noon.
We had a delicious lunch on our visit to Sally Lunn’s. We started with a variety of teas which were all served in adorable tea pots. There are SO many tea choices that you won’t believe it!
The lunch menu has hot and cold sandwiches along with hot English style dishes. They really put care into serving everything on pretty dishes and with thoughtful sides. It makes for a beautiful table when you get the different courses of food.
We tried Helen’s Famous Chicken Pot Pie which has chunks of poached chicken breast and fresh veggies bathed in a basil and cream sauce. All this filling is inside amazing homemade short crust pastry.
We also tried a special Vegetable Melt that had spinach, squash and tomato slices with melted Swiss cheese over it. It was fresh and delicious.
Later, we had some of their famous scones for a little dessert. Served with clotted cream and strawberry preserves, you’re going to be in for a real treat whether you head out to Chester or Chatham for a meal or Lambert Castle for their tea.
Visit them on Facebook, too!
