Cherry Blossoms at Sunrise in Branch Brook Park – Photo Gallery

Every year we like to head to Branch Brook Park while the famous cherry blossoms are in full bloom. We like to visit each year at different times of the day to experience the magnificence of the trees in all kinds of natural light. What Alice realized is that we never had been there at sunrise. As all photographers know right after sunrise and before sunset are the “golden hours” as the light is softer and, well, golden.

Therefore we woke at the bright and early hour of 5:00 AM on Saturday and headed out. I was grumbling at first given the cold morning and the lack of coffee. It was worth it however. The lighting was spectacular and the park was peaceful. I ran into another photographer and we chatted a bit about how nice it was to be here that early.

We heartily recommend visiting during the early part of the morning for a different take. Of course any time of day is a wonderful time to see the cherry blossoms. Get there soon though. There is not much peak blossom time left.
