Last May the party of the year in Montclair was the inaugural Tierney’s Tavern Music Festival to celebrate the iconic establishment’s 80th year. 3 stages, including one outside, featuring awesome local bands, food and beer trucks, a dunk tank, activities for the kids. It was the place to be. We were there and had an awesome time. In fact it was such a success that there was talk that very night that this might become a yearly event. Well guess what? It did.
Hosted by Montclair’s favorite front porch rockers The Porchistas, the event is back for its second year and promises to surpass the fun of last year. It takes place on Saturday May 30th. The musical lineup is quite impressive and includes bands Thomas Wesley Stern, Accidental Seabirds, The One and Nines, The Chris O’Leary Band and The Defending Champions. The food will be plentiful with food trucks and Tierney’s famous burger (as it is National Burger Month how can you not have one?) The ever-popular dunk tank will also be back raising money for the Montclair Ambulance Unit.
And the best part? The rain or shine event is free! Is is also open to all ages from doors at 11:00 up to 8:00 PM. The party goes on for the 21+ crowd after that though with the last band going on at 11:00 PM. Come see some of the best bands NJ has to offer and enjoy the day.
