YDKJ is stoked to premiere the brand spanking new song “Distance” from Red Band punk outfit Corrina, Corrina. The youthful quartet won “Top Young Band (Under 21)” at last year’s Asbury Park Music Awards and this tune shows that the prize was well deserved. The members just finished up their freshman year of college but you wouldn’t know from listening to them. They sound like they have been doing this way longer than their actual years.

“Distance” is pretty much a perfect pop punk song with just enough of an edge to separate it from the usual run-of-the-mill tunes and give it some teeth. The song is fast, fresh, and full of energy. Downright anthemic. Among their influences they list The Bouncing Souls, The Replacements, and The Gaslight Anthem. This is a good roster of bands to be inspired by. To take these influences and come up with something new is the trick and they succeed. Quite an achievement.

The song is from an upcoming EP that will be released on a Flexi Disc by Little Dickman Records. Last year’s breakout debut LP American Short Stories is also available from the label.

Corrina, Corrina are playing the Skate and Surf Festival pre-party at Langosta Lounge tonight and on June 7th at Asbury Lanes opening for Uke-Hunt. They are gearing up for a summer full of shows so keep an eye on their Facebook page for dates soon.
