I am currently on vacation and usually the night before we leave Alice and I like to relax and get things in order. We had planned an elaborate Instagram project for our ride down to Ocean City on Saturday so a night of rest would have been nice. However, Friday night was the season finale of the Sundown at the Carousel music series in Asbury Park and we couldn’t miss that. Also, when friends YJY and The Battery Electric are on a bill that changes plans. And if we discover new music, such as Brooklyn’s excellent BOYTOY, well, that is just a bonus.
A big YDKJ shout out to Cool Dad Music, Little Dickman Records, and Arcade Radio for putting on this series. The shows ran so smoothly you think it would be easy to put events like this together. It is not. A lot of hard, hard work goes into it. All involved are pros and more than that have a genuine love of what they do.
Here is hoping this is not the last we have seen of this series. It was a great showcase of local music.
Now if you need me, I’ll be in the ocean.
