We’re wrapping up the 7th Annual YDKJ Hot Dog Tour and here’s one of the final stops. Johnny Fries in Ortley Beach is a really cool place on Route 35 with lots of great boardwalk-style food. We thought their chili was phenomenal.
Their hot dogs are HUGE Thumann’s dogs which we tried with a few different toppings combinations. If I had known how big each dog was I would have gotten less food! Everything was delicious though.
The dogs were nice and charred and the toppings were generous. I liked the way the cut the ends of them, too. Interesting little touches like this make me happy.
The star of the show was their chili. We had it on a dog and it on an order of their famous fries. If we weren’t on the Hot Dog Tour, this review would be all about those fries!
This was the small size of fries and it was humongous! Covered in chili, diced fresh tomatoes and a Mexican blend of cheeses, this was a terrific dish. I could have just eaten some of this and been extremely happy.
If you haven’t been to Johnny Fries and whether you’re going for hot dogs or not, you should definitely check them out.
