There are two basic waffle types. Authentic Liege Waffles (Belgian Sugar Waffles) are light and crispy and served with powdered sugar. They come in cinnamon sugar or vanilla sugar flavor and you can get them stuffed or topped with a variety of fruit, nuts and chocolate.
The other waffle type is the Brussels waffle which is a thicker and fluffier waffle. These come plain with powdered sugar on top or topped with fruit.
We tried some savory breakfast waffles with the Brussels waffle as the base. The one above has bacon in it. You can’t go wrong with a bacon stuffed waffle, can you??
My favorite waffles were the stromboli waffles. I got the pepperoni and mozzarella stuffed waffles and it’s like fresh breakfast pizza. Yum! The dough had a slightly sourdough taste but was moist and chewy. The cheese and meat were well represented but didn’t overpower the waffle or marinara sauce on top.
We also tried a few non-waffle dishes and they were all pretty good. You should really come for the waffles, though. They are special and come in enough varieties that you’re sure to find one or two that you’ll love.
