New York Jets Head Coach Todd Bowles grew up in Elizabeth and his hometown honored him last weekend by renaming their sports complex after him.
We couldn’t get close enough to him for a good picture but NJ.com could as you can see above. Unfortunately, much of the ceremony space was cordoned off for VIPs only.
Elizabeth High School’s band and cheerleaders were playing and dancing on the main field in the complex.
The other field had bounce houses and Jets-related kids stuff for families to run around on.
It was a beautiful day for Elizabeth to honor their favorite son and celebrate the opening of their new Todd Bowles Waterfront Sports Complex. The complex was formerly a covered-over landfill so it is a great pleasure for them to reclaim this usable space in such a great way for the whole community.
